Pupil Premium

Pupil Premium Information

What is the Pupil Premium?

The Pupil Premium was introduced in April 2011 to provide additional funding to schools for pupils who may face barriers to learning. It is allocated to support:

  • Children who have been eligible for free school meals at any point in the last six years (referred to as ‘Ever 6 FSM’),

  • Children who have been in continuous care for more than six months,

  • Children of service personnel.

For more in-depth information, you can visit the Department for Education's official page:

The allocation of funds at Hillside Primary has been guided by thorough research into the most effective educational interventions. Decisions have been informed by the Sutton Trust–EEF Teaching and Learning Toolkit, helping us prioritise strategies with the highest potential impact. We focus on implementing low-cost, high-impact approaches that are currently being used successfully across the school.

Please read the information below which gives a detailed breakdown of the way we spend our Pupil Premium funding and the impact this has had in previous academic years.
