We have been learning about where food comes from and how many miles it travels to get to England.
We have been writing our self reports this week
and learning more about Ancient Greece.
We have been preparing hard for the school council elections tomorrow. We have written and shared our manifestoes and been canvassing for votes.
1.6.15 Summer 2 Can you Rule the World?
This half term we are learning about what a democracy is
and all about politics.
We have been learning how to do long division in Maths and in our Topic we are learning about the Ancient Greeks.

We had a Tea Party in the courtyard!
We are reading Alice in Wonderland everyday and yesterday we made our own White Rabbit's house dioramas.

5.1.15 Spring Term - MISSION TO MARS!
This term we are taking a trip to Outer Space,
exploring and discovering life beyond our planet!
Sit back and hold on tight as we blast of to a new world!
We have been designing our own computer games this week.
Also, Mr Wheatley from the Flying High Trust talked to us about having a children's Parliament.
We made some catapults using lolly sticks and elastic bands and tested them to see how far we could project a counter.
We had a fantastic sleepover in school on Friday night!
After going on the trim trail in the dark and making spooky faces with our torches, we went on a Smartie hunt around school, did some star gazing with the iPads, watched a film and ate loads of sweets, had a story in the courtyard and eventually went to sleep sometime after midnight! We were all very sleepy the next day but had a great time!

This week we have been learning about Vincent Van Gogh
and painting in his style.
We celebrated Safer Internet Day and talked about being
safe and sensible online.

read and write Roman numerals.
This week we learned about Henry VIII and Bloody Mary.
We made some 'dice of death' showing different Tudor punishments.
We have been doing paintings and writing poems about WW1
and activities based on Remembrance day.
This week we have been learning about thr Great War and anti-bullying.
We had a special visitor from the Cadets to teach us about the army and we got very muddy!

We have been writing our own exciting stories based on the Battle of Hastings and painting our own versions of the Bayeux Tapestry.
We have been re-enacting history this week, looking at the invasion of England by William the Conqueror at the Battle of Hastings.
We have been learning about the geography of France and about famous French artists. Photos of our own paintings coming soon!
Yesterday we had great fun baking our own baguettes and then eating them with French cheeses and olives. Yum!
We have been learning more about France and used Google Earth to look around Paris! We have worked really hard in Maths to use 5 digit numbers to order populations of French towns.
Also, we constructed replicas of the Eiffel tower,
using spaghetti and marshmallows!
